evening inspiration:
a short set inspired by this evening’s mood. humble, sweet, and full of hope.
i passed this butterfly while walking on the trail today. after passing it something within me urged me to go back and pick up that butterfly.. i thought to myself that it would fly away, but i went back anyway and was struck with joy when it came right onto my hand. we bonded for a bit before it flew away..
found out it is a Pipevine Swallowtail (Battus Philenor) and a female because of the white markings..

i would be someone completely different had i not found Joseph Campbell’s work. his study into myths and their symbolic imagery probably saved my life. i was young at the time and had constant fights with my parents. they were pentecostal christian at the time and we didn’t have a good relationship back then, there was too much indoctrination and not enough love in their religion. joseph brought light to my life at a time when i assumed there was no light strong enough to reach me..
